Cleaned my wife’s car, inside and out.
And if you think it looks like crap now, you don’t even want to know how it was before. Let’s just say a spilled chocolate protein shake was involved...
Oh well, I love my wife.

It’s forgivable if she made more protein shake.
What’s unforgivable is not eating enough protein to cultivate gains

If it makes you feel better, I spilled soup on the Passat’s passenger seat not too long ago.
That was far from fun.

He can always get that protein back with a GAINSWICH JR.

Not fair. I haven’t had a car to clean for a week.
The neighbour’s car had a dozen bird bombs on two days ago and I thought, ‘yay, I’ll get that to clean’ . Went out later on and it had rained, getting rid of all the bird bombs and it now looks clean again. Not fair.

I’ve got road tar stuck to both sides of a 2013 Subaru Outback, are you getting excited yet? I also have a trunk covered in hair from a Husky dog. That’s just icing on the cake.

eh, that shit doesn’t really bother me
Co
me out to the
east coast and see some
rust! You’ll never complain about barely-noticeable
scratches again!

Oh you tease.
Tar is one of those satisfying ones, you spray the tar remover on and allow it to dwell for a minute or two, watching as the tar breaks down and starts running down the paintwork and then simply wipe off. Only more satisfying is using fallout remover on wheels, or an abused white car, watching as the car appears to be bleeding from it's pores oh and snow foaming, always great fun. Lol.

How about I ship you my wife’s Terrain. It hasn’t been washed since the day she got it.

Ouch. I’m scared to ask how long she’s had it.
I’ve done two cars, one hadn’t been washed in eight years and one hadn’t been washed in nine years. Both came up well quite easily.
The worst is the daily driver cars that just get abused, the ones that when the driver offers a lift to someone but the person takes one brief glance inside and says, 'no thanks, I'll walk, it's no far'.

Luckily the Terrain is only 8 months old. I’ve got a buddy who is into detailing cars, he let me do my Cruze last fall and it came out pretty good (at least the exterior, the interior still needs work). I was going to do the Terrain but winter set in before I got a chance. It’s been on my to do list, I just haven’t gotten around to it yet.
I imagine at some point the dirt builds up and actually acts as sort of a protectant. And then when you clean it, you’re really washing away that bottom layer, and everything else just goes with it.
I’ve ridden in a few cars like that, unfortunately. Just want to take a shower afterwards.

Ye’, traffic film builds up on a car, dirt sticks to it and builds up.
Mud and brake dust are the real killers.
Stones in the mud scratch and ding the paintwork and build up in the wheel arches.
While brake dust not only makes your wheels look filthy, it actually embeds into the paint where it corrodes and expands, and corrodes and expands, etc... leading to failure in the clearcote and ultimately causes the paint to lift and bubble in areas where it’s started to eat along.

Hmm, I knew brake dust was bad but didn’t know the scientific reason. Thank you f or enlightening me.

I’ve just got to work and on my mobile so can’t load a video link.
Go to YouTube and type ‘Iron x working’. That’s brake and other iron fallout from your car, other cars, churned up from the road left by other cars, gleaned from the vehicle being near train lines, atmosphere pollution, etc...
The agent reacts to brake dust (burnt iron particulates), etc... and turns purple. It's safe on metal it just dissolves burnt iron.

I used that stuff when I did my Cruze last year, it’s amazing! Was definitely eye opening to see all that purple runoff coming off the car.

I use Bilt Hamber Korrosol myself. I found CarPro Iron-X getting less effective as they started adding scents in an effort to deal with the strong chemical smell, also Bilt Hamber do a product called AutoWheels which is a wheel cleaner and fallout remover in one.
But ye', it's all stuff you wouldn't see unless you had a white car. Which show up as caramel coloured spots compared to brown or black coloured spots being tar.
